You are receiving this e-mail because you expressed interest in the next handycam housing from Gates. I finally have new information to share!
Attached is the final pricing and feature sheet for the Gates HF-S11 housing. It fits the Canon HF-S100, S10 and S11. It is similar in size and shape to the XR520 housing (and the HC series before that) but has some very unique new features. There is a pocket built into the hosing that allows you to drop the Canon remote into the shell and White Balance, Tele Converter and all embedded menu functions are readily available. This means no optional controls to remember to order with the housing—all menu functions are already included!! It also has a nifty new mount plate that employs a cam lock system when inserting into the housing rather than mount screws—highly convenient for the user!
One important note about ports: This housing takes a NEW series of ports called 32. This is because the camera has a wider field of view than the handycams before it. This means that ports from the PC, MC, TRV and HC series will not fit on this housing. New ports must go with this housing. At this time, we are offering the SP32 (standard port), FP32 (flat port) and GP32 (Gates wide angle port.) There are no Fathom ports at this time.
We hope to be shipping these housings the week following DEMA (beginning Nov. 10th) and do not sell direct so please place your orders with your dealers now so you can get on the list. Dealer list can be found here: www.gateshousings.com/dealers.html Speaking of DEMA, we will have this housing at our booth #960 for you to get your hands on. John will have an unfinished prototype at the Birmingham Dive Show in the UK next weekend Oct 24 and 25 if any of you happen to be there.
As always, any questions, drop me a note!
All the Best
